One reason for all the delays: I'm employed now and I get a wonky time schedule that's different each week. Writing, for me, often needs rituals and time patterns in order to work. And energy to write, of course. I haven't made/had enough time for both this last couple of months.
Did tackle one problem though. I actually *have* the conclusion to "You Can't Be Here" mapped out in my head finally. I kept going back and forth over how the conclusion should go and inspiration finally struck me in the back of the head and said 'finish me'. In Torchwood fashion, (and series 4 Doctor Who), expect some trauma to happen before the ending. There will be positives, I promise. "Bittersweet" seems a good word for the conclusion.
I was supposed to be part of Space Big Bang... and I'm waaaay late on that too. I wrote, and am in the process of finishing, a sequel to "You Can't Be Here." I still intend to post this when it's finished, which shouldn't be too long after the conclusion of "You Can't Be Here" if I post correctly.
I've already got an idea for a story that comes after *that* one as well. Actually, the events of making Ianto into a Time Lord and the Peacemaker offering that Ianto travel with her have spawned a whole little set of ideas for adventures in space and time. I intend to set this up as a sort of show/episode format--making a 'season' in the way of Doctor Who and Torchwood with 13 'episodes.' "You Can't Be Here" would be considered something close to a three episode special arch. The first 'episode' (I may post calling it that...) would be "Crossroads," before mentioned as the sequel. I've got most of episode 2 planned out now too. The hard part is I need to do a little more research before completely settling on the season. More on this as it develops.
Thanks for the patience.
